I am interested in the processes that bring about biological and cultural diversity in birds, particularly those linked to signaling traits such as song. For my DPhil (supervised by Sonya Clegg and Tim Coulson), I am studying geographic and individual variation in the song of silvereyes (Zosterops lateralis) and other species in the Zosterops genus. I am utilising a combination of machine learning and field techniques to capture fine-scale differences between populations and other behavioural patterns.
