Evolution

About

Research in evolution bridges over several disciplines, including ecology, behaviour and genetics, to understand the processes driving adaptation in response to environmental pressures, combining both lab-based studies as well as investigating wild natural systems.

We explore questions related to:

  • local adaptation
  • reproductive timing
  • sociality
  • dispersal
  • life history optimisation

Using techniques including:

  • translocation and common garden experiments
  • phenotypic analyses (e.g. morphological, behavioural, and life-history traits)
  • theoretical models
  • genomic analyses (e.g. whole-genome sequencing)
