Ecology

About
Research in ecology encompasses numerous diverse questions and study species, primarily focused on trophic interactions and phenological responses to environmental change, as well as host-parasite dynamics and microbial transmission.
Some of our key research themes include:
- scale-dependency in phenology
- phenotypic plasticity
- trophic mismatch
- avian ectoparasites
- disease transmission
- parasite distribution and dispersal
We use a wide range of techniques such as:
- remote sensing (e.g. multi-spectral drone imagery)
- computer vision and deep learning
- invertebrate sampling
- long-term field monitoring (e.g. Wytham Tit Study)
- citizen science initiatives
- bioinformatic analyses
- climate chamber experiments
